Yes, it’s been a while since we last posted. It seems as though life got in the way or something!
We are still here, though, and it would seem more busy than ever.
To catch you up a bit, the last few months have been a whirlwind. Our very own, Jera Pipkin, was crowned Miss American Angus in November at the 2015 Angus Convention and Trade Show in Kansas City. The honor has brought with it a chance for some of us to travel with her, and we are enjoying the opportunity to get out and visit with our Angus friends. Our first stop included the North American International Livestock Expo in Louisville, and as you can see from the photo it gave Jera a chance for a photo opp with Dad in the lobby outside the show ring! Talk about a throwback! Our travels have also taken us to CAB headquarters in Ohio, the National Western in Denver and to the Fort Worth Stock Show.
On the home front, we’re in the thick of calving season. While we enjoy every ounce of every day we have without sub-zero temperatures and knee-deep snow, we realize our Missouri weather can change in a heartbeat. So, we’re feeling extra blessed by the warmer days we’ve seen recently.
We hope you’ll mark your calendars to join us Feb. 27-28 for the Missouri Angus Futurity and annual meeting in Columbia.
We’re sending a couple of powerful females straight from two of our foundation cow herds, as well as one really stout herd sire prospect. I heard Jim say just yesterday that he just might be the most powerful bull we’ve ever consigned to Futurity.
Stay tuned for a closer look at our sale offering and more updates coming soon to our website.
Now that February is here, that means it’s almost time for the Missouri Angus Futurity. Check out our consignments in our latest ad. Give us a call if you are interested and need more information.
Here’s a shot of a promising herd sire we’re really excited about! AAA Reg.#17152067.
He is a Final Product x 036 x Dateline x EXT.
Sound and powerful!
Tomorrow is Easter Sunday and we’re sure hoping sunshine and warm weather come with it!
The wheat and rye Jim drilled last fall has greened up with the recent rains we’ve had. A few days of steady warm temperatures and we’ll have some wonderful spring pasture!
The kids and I picked up our lawn mowers today after having them serviced. I have this “no mow” policy until after the first of April. Some years I don’t make it, but this year I think I will for sure!
The eggs are cooked and ready for coloring! Jace and I better get busy!
Happy Easter everyone!
Just wanted to take a moment to thank the folks at HyVee grocery in Springfield and the Missouri Beef Industry Council for inviting us to participate in HyVee’s Beef 101 class last week. We had a great time sharing where beef comes from with consumers! We look forward to helping out again soon!
She SELLS! Sunday, Feb. 24 at the Missouri Angus Futurity in Columbia! Blackbird 2200- 9/12/2012

The “wow” factor at its finest! This daughter of the ABS hot sire EXAR Upshot is photo backdrop bound! “Foxy” and “fancy”, Blackbird is long-necked, soft-sided and extremely sound. She continues a tradition of allowing our best ones to sell!

And, this is why we do what we do…
It’s hard to believe we’re already a week into the New Year!
2013 marks an extra special year for us at Clearwater Farm. You see, 80 years ago this year W.H. and his son Morris Pipkin bought the farm’s very first Angus cattle from the Johnson Workman family in Kansas. We’re proud of the foundation “Gramp” and “Grandy” built for our Angus operation and strive still today to carry out the legacy they created. “Grandy” always advised us to produce “middle of the road cattle” that way we would catch the trends going both ways. Yet at the same time, we’re using the top AI sires of the breed to produce the kind of cattle that will make our customers profitable.
We sincerely appreciate you —our friends and customers —for making our 80 years in the Angus business possible. We know we wouldn’t be here without you.
Best of luck to you all in 2013!

We love it when folks stop in for a visit! We were excited to host a group of Genex reps at the farm back in October. Thanks to our friend Stan Lock for arranging the tour. What a great opportunity for us to show off what Genex sires have to offer in progeny.
